Oldshore - Created by Elaine Megahey from a desire to combine traditional Irish materials with utility fabrics and a pared down approach to design. A sense of place, nature, Irish landscape and the provenance of materials all inform the design process. Materials are sourced in Counties Antrim and Donegal and associations with place are further evoked in names given to bags - Idlewild, Roan, and Harbour.
Elain has a BAHons and an MA in Textiles and has also exhibited her mixed/media work nationally and internationall since 1989, through collectives such as Belfast Print Works and the 62 Group of Textile Artists.
